You all thought of everything in its design, it is such a fun car to drive! The only thing I would have liked to have made availabe on the Clubman is the butterscoth/tan leather interior. This resulted in me purchasing an expensive non-returnable part (MAF Sensor) which I didn't need plus the time and cost of a second opinion to have the actual problem fixed and the cost of gas for another 4 hour drive. 1.5"My recent experience with Mini service was both frustrating and alarming. I brought my car in for the engine light and low idling. When called in the afternoon I found that my car was more than 2 quarts low on oil. This was alarming because I had left my car at Mini in December for 2 weeks to be serviced. When I picked it up I was assured it was ready to go. I found out on this trip to Mini Service that my oil levels had not even been checked in December and the oil was not changed. When I received the call saying that my car was low on oil I asked what was wrong and the reply was, "cars use oil." Cars should not use 2 quarts of oil in just over 2 month and I was alarmed. I said I would be on my way over after I had a short, unsettling conversation with the service representative. When I arrived my car had been taken back to service and the oil was being changed. The oil had still not been changed when I initial call was made to me, but I had been told it was ready for pick-up. My assumption is that oil had simply been added and not until I drew attention to the car being serviced in December and the recognition that it had not been was the garage asked to change the oil. This is hardly world-class service. When I arrived at the mini store I received a few responses to why my oil had not been changed in December including, "it was not due for a service" and finally toward the end of a heated conversation, "we overlooked this service." I had also asked for my car to be detailed while I left it in December. This had not happened when I picked it up in December. I was frustrated but didn't make a big deal of the situation. No harm, no foul on that account. Not that I realize that my attempt to keep my car in good condition and well serviced was not being honored by the service department I regret my good attitude toward the slip (as I had not realized how major the slip was). I am uncomfortable now with Mini in general. My service experiences have be strongly average to this point and this one I call a total fail. I am now considering trading my car this summer for a Toyota. I love my mini and expected to be a lifelong customer, but don't see this as a good decision on my part. I was sold on reliability, world-class service, and fantastic customer experience. This has not been my experience. I love the idea of my Mini Cooper, but can't say I have had the experience I had hoped for. I was not charged for the service, but I have a service plan that pays for oil changes for 3 years. I'm not convinced that this was a good purchase. I was called the morning of my service after I had dropped it off the night before. I was asked if I could be charged the $100 labor to look at my car. This is even more frustrating upon reflection knowing that the levels of my oil were not checked in December and all I would have needed is an oil change. The manager has offered to repaint the door but I declined and have taken the option of getting the ding touched up first to see if that will be acceptable, at least for now. It was accidental, they admitted their fault. However, my previously perfect Mini will now have a "touched-up" repair which I hope will not be visible. Accidents happen, but they shouldn't happen in a Mini shop. And I hesitate to let them repaint an entire door. I trust they have taken steps to see that this kind of thing doesn't happen again." She had no idea where my paperwork was and was a bit put off when she had to walk over to the service desk. When I asked where my car was, I got "its someplace outside".
